For most of our lives, we've been pretty sure we know how to peel a banana. It's a relatively simple task that goes OK about 90% of the time.
Why then are there nearly 500 videos on YouTube right now roughly titled "How to Peel a Banana?" We've been doing it wrong, apparently.
Those 500 videos account for 4 million views and this clip, which got some attention over the weekend, is one of the 5,000 that show up when you search "How to Peel a Banana" on YouTube.
The most popular such tutorial is this video that first went viral in 2009 and has since been over 2.5 million times. Earlier this summer, the clip was even featured in a Google Voice spot. Interesting how-to videos like these often have a long shelf-life.
Of course, some banana peeling videos are of a different variety altogether.
