The Talking Dog Finds Millions of Fans

May 10, 2011

The clip may barely be a week old, but it's already become one of the most-viewed YouTube videos of the month. The "ultimate dog tease" video has picked up over 12 million views in roughly a week's time and is now one of the 10 most-"liked" clips of all-time in Canada, where the video's creator, Andrew Grantham, hails from.

Grantham has been posting animal voiceover videos for years, but this is the first such video to draw such a big audience so quickly (his cats talking translation drew over 26 million views, but over the course of years). The video was posted may first and took off on Reddit soonafter and was quickly picked up by pop culture and news sites. The simple, wholesome comedy clip, which has been particularly popular with 45-55 year-old users, has helped draw 22 million views to Grantham's body of work in over the past week.

Here are views for Grantham's videos over the past month:

There have been plenty of talking animal clips to go big before, but Grantham's clips are drawing a fast audience.
