Taiwan's New Video Trend: Google Translations

You may recall we last explored a YouTube Trend in Taiwan back in January, when the "bobee dance" was taking off.

Spotted this month: an interesting new video trend cropping up on the East Asian island using audio from, of all things, the Google Translate tool. Users input Chinese words or phrases into Google Translate and then use the automated voice to create songs or to spoof music videos, dramatic acting scenes, etc. Some of them are very simple, straight melodies created with the automated translator.

Others are more elaborate, like this video, which has been viewed nearly half of a million times and was one of the past week's Most Viewed videos in Taiwan:
