Big in South Korea: 2pm

June 21, 2011

We know that Katy Perry, Chris Brown, and Lady Gaga have the hottest music videos this week in the United States, but have you ever wondered what was popular on the other side of the world?

On Monday, popular boy band 2pm from South Korea released their latest album and, naturally, debuted a new music video. The video for the title song "Hands Up" quickly spread on twitter late last night ET, and today is one of the Most Shared and Most Viewed in South Korea, Taiwan, Japan, and Hong Kong.

Employing a technique we're now seeing become popular in the United States as well -- see: Britney Spears -- the group released a teaser for the video last week that drew over 1 million views. (Late Sunday, Spears posted her latest teaser -- a 30 second clip from "I Wanna Go," which debuts Wednesday -- and it's already picked up nearly 750,000 views.)
